Country Courses and Farm Experience

Country Courses

Country Courses at Ty Gwyn Farm

Would you like to try your hand at something different? Perhaps learn a new skill or experience another way of life?  Maybe you want to spend a day doing something interesting and completely different from your normal daily life or work. Do you and some friends just want to have a day’s fun?  Come and learn with us in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a wide choice on our country courses. We usually start in our Cruck Barn which has been newly refurbished to provide a comfortable and atmospheric space to meet and learn.

Cruck BarnThe Cruck Barn is upstairs in the courtyard, it is believed to date back to the 18th century and would have previously been used for storing hay and straw for the animals below.

No longer useful for modern agriculture it has sat unused and unseen.  Now it is has been restored and can again be used and seen by a new generation of people. It provides a warm and comfortable place to sit and relax before and after courses.  Comfortable sofas and chairs are just the place to sit with a cup of coffee and discuss the day’s events. The Cruck Barn has a kitchen area for guests to help themselves to light refreshments.  The barn is equipped with a power point projector, screen and WiFi.

Access: The Cruck Barn is accessed by stairs, so it may be difficult for people with limited mobility.  Please contact us for more information.

Granary Cottage

Guestbook

Fantastic warm cosy getaway with stunning views.Granary Cottage was immaculately clean and the perfect size for our mother and daughter getaway. Both bedrooms are en suite which gives that little extra luxury and isn’t often the case in 2 bedrooms properties. It’s in a remote location up beautiful winding roads but at the same time is only 10 minutes drive from the town of Llandrindod Wells which has all the facilities needed eg supermarkets, local shops, pharmacy, train station, library. In the cottage we arrived to the beds all made up and lovely plump towels in each bathroom. It’s been converted beautifully with visible beams and a large celiac window in the living room (which is upstairs). From here the views of the mountains, complete with sheep of course, are absolutely stunning. The owners are friendly and helpful but also won’t intrude on your stay at all, despite living in the farmhouse next door. Overall we had a fantastic time and we’re so happy we found this accommodation. We felt it was also magnificent value for money.
